OSTROJ is preparing two new lines for homogenizing gunpowder for Explosia. The lines will at least double production capacity and increase production flexibility. The contract includes development and production, including a complete technological solution. It should be completed by the end of 2026.
Homogenization is one of the most important steps in the production of gunpowder. It ensures that the final mixture is safe, stable, and of high quality. "We design new lines using modern automation and with an emphasis on robust safety features for operation in potentially explosive environments," says Martin Čmiel, Director of Sales and Marketing at OSTROJ.
The two new lines will complement the existing operation and bring a significant increase in production capacity for Explosia, a Czech manufacturer of industrial explosives, propellants, and smokeless powders. The delivery will include conveyor routes, lifting equipment, a homogenizer, a control room, a camera system, and other elements necessary for processing gunpowder. It will also include offline monitoring with a visual overview of the operation and capacity of the line.
"We are striving to make the line as user-friendly as possible and equip it with a unique weighing and packaging system that we are developing specifically for this application. Improved dosing and a new packaging method will significantly simplify the work of the operators and increase overall efficiency," adds Adam Majewski, Sales Manager, OSTROJ.
At the end of 2025, both companies finalized the layout and technical specifications. This will be followed by the production of conveyors, homogenizers, weighing and packaging technology, and software development. The lines are scheduled to go into operation at the end of 2026.
