Despite challenging market conditions and an ongoing transformation, OSTROJ increased its 2025 revenues by 9.3 % to CZK 1.539 billion, though it closed the calendar year with a loss of CZK 45.4 million. The Opava-based company continued its extensive investments in production modernization, implemented a new matrix management model, obtained key certifications, and expanded its product portfolio.
"The results were significantly influenced by the stagnation of the European economy, a decline in industrial production in Germany, and a downturn in the automotive industry in that same market. Further pressure was exerted by the ongoing war in Ukraine and unstable trade and customs policies in the United States, which had a direct impact particularly on the mining roof support segment," says Vladimír Trochta, Chairman of the Board of Directors at OSTROJ.
In 2025, the Opava engineering company changed its organizational structure and introduced a matrix management model. This model better connects specialists across the company and accelerates project execution. A key investment was the launch of the LZK 4000-2 semi-automatic forging line, costing over CZK 150 million. Further investments were directed toward production modernization and energy savings. OSTROJ also strengthened its position in quality management, obtaining ISO 14001:2015, EN 15085-2 CL1 for the welding of railway vehicles, and IATF 16949 for the production of forgings, which opens up new opportunities in the automotive industry.
"Our strategy is built on developing our own products that bring measurable benefits to customers in the form of higher productivity, safety, or production capacity," says Vladimír Trochta. Important orders in 2025 included an automated line for Notino with a capacity of up to 6,000 packages per hour and a conveyor system capable of handling production peaks for Model Obaly. OSTROJ developed a mobile formwork system for concreting the Metro D tunnel in Prague and delivered formwork equipment for the Homole tunnel on the D35 motorway. Simultaneously, the company launched series production of airport equipment for Oshkosh AeroTech in Opava and began preparing two new lines for Explosia.
Looking ahead, OSTROJ intends to focus on systematically increasing the added value of its products and strengthening its position in technologically demanding segments. "Our goal is to gradually increase the share of forgings, including their subsequent machining, and move the portfolio toward higher complexity in deliveries. We will utilize the experience gained from supplying formwork for the Prague Metro in the development of a new generation of equipment for the construction of subway, road, and railway tunnels. We will strive to expand into the fields of agricultural technology, rail transport, and airport infrastructure, where we see significant growth potential," adds Vladimír Trochta.
