ROOF SUPPORTS
Roof supports rank among the most important products of our company. Their production has a long tradition in OSTROJ company because the beginning of development and production dates back to 1963. Since that time, thousands of roof supports have been produced which have changed the shape of Czech mining and in other countries has increased the volume of extraction and also the safe of working conditions.
Each type of roof support is designed specially in accordance with customer’s requirements. Above all, operator safety is considered as the most important item, as well as difficult mining geological conditions, when the roof supports are designed.
The equipment is designed for reliable operation with a lifetime over 15 years and great emphasis is placed on its running on a continuous basis.
The ‘state of the art’ design and manufacture of the OSTROJ roof supports are intended for seams of both stable conditions or with the risk of rock bursts. In this case, the shield legs are equipped with rock burst protection (impact valves) as a standard feature. The roof supports are offered with a width of shields up to 2000mm and the diameter of hydraulic legs up to 400mm allowing a yield capacity of 1150t and support resistance of 140 t/m2 (1400 kN/m2).
Consultancy work, training, service engineer assistance during commissioning and operation of the equipment, prompt customer service as well as repairs and general overhauls are part and parcel of our supply.
ROOF SUPPORTS FOR LOW TO MEDIUM THICKNESS SEAMS
This height range of roof supports manufactured by OSTROJ, is intended for the support of extracted areas of longwall faces by mining in low to medium-thickness coal seams. Roof supports are designed for operation either in shearer or in plow system longwalls and may be equipped with various modifications of base frames, canopies, hydraulic legs, control systems or other support components.
ROOF SUPPORTS FOR MEDIUM TO HIGH THICKNESS SEAMS
This range of roof supports manufactured and supplied by OSTROJ is intended for roof support of medium to high-thickness coal seams. Roof supports are designed to operate in tough mining and geological conditions including seams requiring special equipment for impact protection. Typical designs of high range roof supports are given in particular technical specifications shown here. It is always possible to supply various alternatives of high range and support capacities to suit customer requirements.
There is a range of accessories for each of the stated type of roof support.
ROOF SUPPORTS FOR STEEP SEAMS
This type of roof support is an important part of the OSTROJ design range and is intended for roof support of longwall systems with shearer extraction of steep seams with the stowing or caving methods.
For these stated conditions the roof support may be adjusted for operating with armoured face conveyor in flat lying seams or without armoured face conveyor in steep seams.
