ZINC COATING
Technology Used:
The curtain galvanizing lines use alkaline galvanizing bath SurTec704 of the company SurTec, allowing to coat parts of very complicated shapes. The bath is very depth-effective, there is no material burning-in on the edges.
Additional Protection of Zinc Coats :
• blue thin-layer passivation without hexavalent chromium
• yellow chromate containing hexavalent chromium, hexavalent chromium
firmly adherent to the zinc coat, its release into the environment is minimized
• clear varnish sealant that significantly increases corrosion resistance of a
product and unifies its appearance
Volumes of Galvanizing Baths :
Total of 14 electroplating vats in two independent single-row reversing lines controlled by a program and connected into one circulation loop, containing a total of 54,000 liters of electrolyte.

• length 1,950 mm (diagonally up to 2,300 mm)
• height 1,540 mm
• width 400 mm
Max. weight of a coated part is 350 kg
CHROME PLATING FOR TECHNICAL PURPOSES
Technology Used:
Catalyzed bath HEEF 25 CS of the company Atotech Deutschland GmbH, allowing even chrome plating of the entire functional surface.
Note: It is not a classic multi-layer decorative coating of copper/nickel/chromium.
Volumes of Baths:
Total of 4 electroplating vats with a total volume of 20,000 liters of electrolyte.
Properties of the Chromium Coat:
Industrial use of chrome plating for technical purposes takes advantage of the following properties:
• low friction coefficient
• reduced tackiness
• wear resistance
• corrosion resistance
• ability to withstand mechanical stress
Note: Hard chromium coats are not suitable for decorative purposes.
Coat Thickness :
• up to 30 microns – without subsequent treatment
or treated only by glazing, depending on required dimensional tolerance.
• up to 60 microns – with subsequent grinding
to achieve a required dimensional tolerance
• up to 300 microns – with subsequent grinding for the refurbishment
of worn-out mechanical parts, chromium replaces material depletion.
Note: Grinding of parts in not provided by the Division.

PLASTIC COATING
Facility for coating of galvanization curtains is part of the equipment.

Long lasting protection of galvanization curtains from the aggressive effects of galvanizing baths is achieved by double coating with PVC-based sealant by means of dipping and subsequent hardening at 175 °C. Coating of galvanization curtains has a significant impact on the economy of operations, reduces losses by returns and reduces environmental impact.

Welcome to the web pages of the Galvanization Shop, an independent manufacturing division of OSTROJ a.s. and one of the biggest commercial Galvanization Shops in the Czech Republic. History of the Galvanization Shop of OSTROJ dates back to 1960, when galvanization of pit props was introduced. Within the framework of OSTROJ modernization, construction of a new galvanization shop was completed in 1990 to meet the capacity and quality requirements for zinc coating of mining machines. Because of the fact that coal mining in the Czech Republic was reduced in early 1990s, the need for zinc coating and chrome plating kept decreasing and the Galvanization Shop had to make up for it by accepting external orders. The Galvanization Shop of OSTROJ is currently well established on the galvanization market in the North Moravian Region. It ranks among the biggest galvanization shops in the Czech Republic. With the volume of 55,000 liters of alkaline cyanide-free galvanizing bath it is by far the biggest galvanization shop in the Czech Republic. Latest technologies are used that allow quality surface treatment. Production is carried out on two automatic curtain galvanizing lines, one manually led drum galvanizing line and one galvanizing line for functional hard chrome plating. (foto)
